Approve a new account

Do this when a person or a family signs up for your church. They cannot log in until you accept the request.

Who can do this: You need Edit access to Account Approvals.

  1. On a computer, click Church Membership in the menu, then Account Approvals. On a phone, tap More, then Church Membership, then Account Approvals.
  2. Find the request in the list. The oldest request is at the top. Each row shows the date and time of the request.
  3. On the right of the row, click Review.
  4. Read the Member Profile window. It shows the name, the email and the phone number.
  5. For a family, click each name on the left to see that person. A star (*) marks the husband and the wife.
  6. At the bottom of the window, click Accept Request.
  7. In the Email Notification window, click Done.

The person gets an email that says their request is approved. The request leaves the list.

A number next to Account Approvals in the menu shows how many requests wait for review.

  1. Do steps 1 to 6 above.
  2. In the Email Notification window, click Complete Member Profile.
  3. Fill in the profile and click Save.

The profile form is the same form as in the Member Directory. See Change a member’s profile.

  1. Do steps 1 to 5 above.
  2. At the bottom of the window, click Deny.

You see Request denied and the request leaves the list.

  1. In the menu, click Dashboard.
  2. In the Needs Attention card, find Account requests.
  3. Click Review on a request, then do steps 4 to 7 above.

The card shows the three newest requests. If there are more, click the link under them, for example Show 2 more.

  • If you open Account Approvals from the link in a sign-up email, that request is highlighted in the list.
  • On the Dashboard, the Review button shows only if you also have Edit access to Member Groups. If you do not see it, use Account Approvals.
  • To learn how people sign up, see Sign up for an account.
