Take a page or section down

You can take a page or a section off your live site without losing it. It stays in the builder, so you can bring it back later. The change reaches your live site when you publish.

  1. In the panel on the left, under Pages, click the gear beside the page. Page settings opens.
  2. Switch Page published off.
  3. Click Save. The page shows DRAFT in the panel.
  4. Click Publish, then Publish site.

The page leaves your live site and its menus. Anyone who opens its old address goes to your homepage.

To bring it back, switch Page published on, click Save, and publish. If the page is not in your menus, add it in Menus. See Change your menus.

Your homepage cannot be taken down. To take down the page that is your homepage, first make another page the homepage. See Show or hide a page.

  1. Point at the section. Its buttons show at its top right. On a touch screen, they always show.
  2. Click the eye button. Its label is Hide (keeps it recoverable).
  3. Click Publish, then Publish site.

In the builder, the section shrinks to a bar that says Hidden section. To bring it back, click Show on that bar and publish. See Hide or delete a section.

You cannot take your whole site off the internet from the builder. Email info@project-go.com from the church’s email address, or ask the site’s Owner to. Tell us your church name and your site’s address. We take it down for you.

If your church stops paying for its plan, billing stops at the end of the paid month. The site stays up for 90 days after that. Then it is deleted.

  • Publish says “Pages you turned off are still linked from the menus or the footer”: A link or button still points to the page. Click Open Menus and remove the link, or switch the page back on.
  • Publish says your Privacy Policy is not live: The Privacy Policy cannot be taken down. Switch Page published back on for it.
  • The Page published switch is grayed out: That page is your homepage. Your homepage is always published.
  • The page is still on your live site: You saved but did not publish. Click Publish.

Email info@project-go.com. Tell us your church name and what you tried.
