Upload sermon audio

Your audio library holds your sermon and class recordings. Upload a recording once, then attach it to a sermon or a Bible class. Visitors can play it on your site.

Your audio library comes with the website license. Before you have the license, you can only paste a link to a recording you already keep somewhere else. See Paste a link instead.

  1. Open the sermon or class. See Add a sermon or Add a Bible class.
  2. Click Choose from audio library. The Audio library window opens.
  3. Click the box under Add audio. On a computer, you can also drag files onto it.
  4. Choose one or more MP3 or M4A files.
  5. Stay on the page while the bar fills. When it is done, the line under the bar starts with Done:.
  6. The new recording is already chosen in the list. Click Use this audio.
  7. Click Save on the sermon or class.
  8. Click Publish. See Publish your site.

Each file can be up to 300 MB. That fits any sermon. Your license includes up to 100 GB of audio in all. The line under the list shows how much you have used.

Use a recording that is already in the library

Section titled “Use a recording that is already in the library”
  1. In the Audio library window, click the circle beside the recording.
  2. With eight or more recordings, type part of the file name in Find a recording to find it faster.
  3. Click Use this audio.

To take a recording off a sermon, click Remove beside its name, then add a YouTube link instead. A sermon needs one or the other.

To delete a recording from the library, click Delete beside it, then click Delete again. It stops playing on every sermon that uses it. The window tells you which ones.

If the recording already lives on another website, you can paste its address.

  1. In the Audio library window, paste the address in Or paste a link.
  2. Click Use this audio. The builder checks that the link plays.

Paste the address of the recording itself. It starts with https:// and most often ends in .mp3 or .m4a. A link to a web page about the recording does not play.

On an iPhone, a Voice Memos recording works as it is.

  1. In Voice Memos, tap the recording, tap the More button, then tap Share.
  2. Scroll down, tap Save to Files, choose a folder, then tap Save. Do not choose Editable.
  3. In the builder, open the sermon and tap Choose from audio library.
  4. Tap Tap here to choose MP3 or M4A files. and choose the recording from Files.
  5. Stay on the page until the line says Done:. Then tap Use this audio.

On another phone or app, save the MP3 or M4A file where your phone’s file picker can find it. Then choose it the same way.

  • “Your audio library comes with the website license”: You do not have the license yet. Paste a link to a recording under Or paste a link instead.
  • “Sermon audio needs your website license, so there is nowhere to put this file yet.”: The same thing. Paste a link to a recording you already keep somewhere else.
  • “Audio only, MP3 or M4A.”: The file is another kind. Save it again as an MP3 or M4A.
  • “… is a QuickTime Audio file, which Voice Memos makes when Editable is chosen.”: Save the recording to Files again without choosing Editable. It then saves as an .m4a file.
  • “… was recorded as Lossless, which Chrome and Android phones cannot play, so it was not uploaded.”: Save it again as an MP3 on a computer, or email it to info@project-go.com. For your next recording, set Voice Memos to Compressed: Settings, Apps, Voice Memos, Audio Quality.
  • “… and the limit is 300 MB”: Export the recording again at a lower bitrate. 96 kbps mono is plenty for speech and fits a three-hour recording.
  • “Your recording is still uploading.”: Wait until the line says Done:, then choose it.
  • “That link did not play when we tried it just now.”: You pasted the address of a page, not the recording. Open the recording itself and copy its address.
  • “That is not a whole web address, so your site could not play it.”: Paste the whole address, starting with https://.
  • “Could not reach your audio library”: Click Try again. If you are signed out, sign in first. See Sign in to your site.
  • The line says your library already has a file with that name: Nothing was written over. The new file was stored under the next free name, and that name is chosen for you.

Email info@project-go.com. Tell us your church name and what you tried.
