Build your site on a phone

You can build, edit and publish your whole site from a phone. Open app.projectgobuilder.com in your phone’s browser and sign in. There is no app to install.

The steps in these guides say “click”. On a phone, tap instead.

  • The top bar is one short row. It shows the save state, Publish, Tools, and Sign in or the round account button.
  • Tools holds the other buttons. Tap Tools for Undo, Redo, History, Save, Colors, Preview and Help.
  • The panel on the left is a drawer. Tap » at the left edge to open it. It closes by itself when you pick a page or a setting. This also happens on a small tablet.
  • The page always shows at phone size. The Desktop, Tablet and Mobile buttons are not there. To see the computer layout, use a computer.
  • Section buttons always show. Each section’s buttons sit at its top right: the up and down arrows, the paint drop for Background, the eye to hide it, and × to delete it.
  • Buttons do what dragging does on a computer. Move sections with the up and down arrows. Frame a photo with the four arrow buttons under Frame this photo. Reorder service times, social links and menu items with their up and down buttons.
  • Photos: Tap a photo on the page, then Choose a photo, or drag one here. Pick one in your phone’s photo picker. An iPhone sends it as a JPG, so you do not need to convert anything. See Change a photo.
  • Sermon audio: A Voice Memos recording works. In Voice Memos, share the recording and tap Save to Files. Then choose it from Files in the builder’s audio library. Stay on the page until it says it is done. See Upload sermon audio.

The first time you open the section library or Colors on a phone, a short note says these are easier on a computer, where the whole page is on the screen. Everything still works on your phone. The note does not come back.

  • Laying out a page. Adding and moving sections is easier when you can see the whole page.
  • Judging colors. You see more of the page at once.
  • Connecting your Google Calendar. The setup steps happen on calendar.google.com, and Google’s settings are easier on a computer. See Connect your Google Calendar.
  • Setting up Google Analytics and Search Console. Those are Google’s own sites. See Add website analytics.

You can start on a computer and finish on your phone, or the other way around. Your site is saved on our servers, so it opens the same on any device when you sign in.

  • You cannot find Undo or Preview: Tap Tools in the top bar.
  • You cannot find your pages: Tap » at the left edge of the screen.
  • A Voice Memos recording is refused: It was saved with Editable chosen, or recorded as Lossless. Save it to Files again without Editable. For your next recording, set Audio Quality to Compressed in your iPhone’s Settings, under Apps, Voice Memos.
  • The top bar says “Not saved, trying again”: Your phone lost its connection. Keep the page open until it says Saved.
