Add a sermon

Add a sermon once, and it shows on your Sermons page, the sermon strip on your homepage and a page of its own.

  1. In the panel on the left, under Content, click Sermons.
  2. Click + Add. The Add a sermon window opens.
  3. Type the Title.
  4. Choose the Date.
  5. Choose the Speaker. For a new name, click + Add a new speaker, type the name, and click Add.
  6. Choose the Series. For a new series, click + Add a new series, type the name, and click Add.
  7. Choose the Service. For a new one, click + Add a new service, type the name, and click Add.
  8. Choose the Category. For a new one, click + Add a new category, type the name, and click Add.
  9. Paste the sermon’s link in YouTube link. Or click Choose from audio library and choose a recording. You can do both. See Upload sermon audio.
  10. If you want, type a Description. A long one is fine. You can paste a whole transcript.
  11. If you want, click Choose image under Featured image and add a photo.
  12. Click Save.
  13. Click Publish. See Publish your site.

Every box from Title to Category is required. A sermon also needs a YouTube link or a recording.

Your site starts with example sermons. Publish leaves them out of your live site. To remove them, see Edit or delete a sermon, class or post.

  • “Give this sermon a title first.”: Type a Title.
  • “One more detail still needs choosing.”: The box that is missing turns red. Fill in the date, speaker, series, service or category.
  • “Add a YouTube link or an audio file. A sermon needs at least one.”: Paste a YouTube link, or choose a recording.
  • “That link will not play.”: Paste the link from the video’s own page, like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=… or https://youtu.be/… A link to your channel is not a link to one video.
  • Publish says a sermon still names the template’s sample speaker, series or recording: You edited an example sermon, and it kept a sample detail. Open it in Sermons and choose your own speaker, series or recording.
