Invite someone to help

Inviting someone lets them edit your site with you. Each person signs in with their own email address. There is no limit on how many people you invite.

Who can do this: the Owner or an Admin.

  1. In the panel on the left, under Your account, click People. You can also click the round button at the top right, then People.
  2. Under Invite someone by email, type the person’s email address.
  3. Choose what they can do: Editor or Admin.
  4. Click Send invitation.

They get an email with a button that opens the builder. They sign in with that email address and a 6-digit code. Their first sign-in makes them part of the site. The invitation lasts 30 days.

What each choice means:

  • Editor: can edit the site and publish it.
  • Admin: can do what an Editor does, and can also invite people, remove them and change what they can do.
  • The Owner also handles billing, the site’s address and taking the site down. Each site has one Owner.

In the People list, an invitation shows Invited, has not signed in yet, Invited, but the email did not send. Press Send again., or Invitation expired. Click Send again to email it again, or Cancel to take it back.

To change someone’s role or take them off the site, see Change someone’s role or remove them.

  • “Type the whole email address of the person you want to invite.”: Check the address for a typing mistake.
  • You do not see Send invitation: Only the Owner or an Admin can invite. Ask one of them.
  • “… can already edit this site.”: That person is already on the site. Find them in the People list.
  • “This site has sent as many invitations as it can in one day. Try again tomorrow.”: A site can send 20 invitations a day. Send the rest tomorrow.
  • “The invitation is saved, but the email did not send.”: Click Send again in a few minutes. If it still does not send, email us.
  • The invitation email does not arrive: Ask the person to look in their spam or junk folder. Then click Send again.
