Change your map
Your site’s maps follow the address in Church info. When you fill in your church’s name and address there, every map on your site points at your church by itself. See Set your church name and address.
Change one map by hand when it needs to show somewhere else. For example, a gospel meeting held at another building.
- Open the page with the map. The template has maps on About Us, Plan Your Visit, Contact Us, Accessibility, Gospel Meeting and VBS, and in any map section you add.
- Click the map, or click Change map at its top left. The Google Map window opens.
- In Church name and address, type the place’s name and full address. For example, Main Street Church of Christ, 123 Main Street, Anytown, ST.
- Click Embed map.
- Check the pin on the map. Google pins the closest match, so a small typo can put it in the wrong place.
- Click Publish. See Publish your site.
Including the name makes the pin show the place’s name, just like Google Maps.
On your live site, a visitor clicks Show the map before Google’s map loads. Your address is on the page as well, so visitors can find you either way.
If it does not work
Section titled “If it does not work”- The pin is in the wrong place: Click the map and type the full address, with the town and state. Add the church’s name in front.
- Publish says “A map still points at the sample address”: Fill in your address in Church info, or click the map and type your own address.
- Embed map does nothing: The box is empty. Type a name and address first.
Still stuck?
Section titled “Still stuck?”Email info@project-go.com. Tell us your church name and what you tried.
